Responsibilities:
- Inspecting the construction site to determine the required materials and tools
- Measuring the distance and dimensions accurately to mark the layout
- Preparing the mortar or other material required for construction
- Building the walls, floors, and other structures using bricks, concrete blocks, and other materials
- Ensuring that the structures are level, plumb, and square
- Installing insulation and vapor barriers
- Following safety procedures to prevent accidents and injuries
- Cleaning and maintaining the tools and equipment used in the construction process
Requirements:
- Physical fitness and good hand-eye coordination to handle heavy materials and operate machinery
- Knowledge of masonry tools, equipment, and materials
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans
- Experience in mixing and applying mortar and other materials
- Attention to detail and ability to work with precision
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions
- Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent on-the-job training
