Responsibilities:

  • Inspecting the construction site to determine the required materials and tools
  • Measuring the distance and dimensions accurately to mark the layout
  • Preparing the mortar or other material required for construction
  • Building the walls, floors, and other structures using bricks, concrete blocks, and other materials
  • Ensuring that the structures are level, plumb, and square
  • Installing insulation and vapor barriers
  • Following safety procedures to prevent accidents and injuries
  • Cleaning and maintaining the tools and equipment used in the construction process

Requirements:

  • Physical fitness and good hand-eye coordination to handle heavy materials and operate machinery
  • Knowledge of masonry tools, equipment, and materials
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans
  • Experience in mixing and applying mortar and other materials
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with precision
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent on-the-job training
