Mail Handlers manage the systematic flow of mail in postal facilities. Responsibilities encompass sorting, processing, and transporting mail, ensuring timely and accurate delivery. Tasks include operating automated machines, loading/unloading mail, and maintaining records.

Responsibilities:

  • Sort and organize incoming mail for distribution to various departments or individuals
  • Operate automated mail processing equipment and machinery
  • Process outgoing mail and packages, including weighing, stamping and labeling
  • Ensure all mail and packages are properly addressed and labeled for delivery
  • Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing mail and packages
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and in accordance with established procedures
  • Assist with other duties as assigned, such as cleaning work area and restocking supplies

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 pounds
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Proficient in using basic computer software and email
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, including early morning, evening, and weekends
