Locksmiths possess the specialized skills to install, repair, and unlock various types of locks. With a keen understanding of security systems, they are responsible for creating master key systems and ensuring appropriate measures for key control. Additional tasks include attending to emergency lockouts and providing advice on strengthening security arrangements.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair, and maintain locks for homes, businesses, and vehicles
  • Cut keys and duplicate them using key-cutting machines and hand tools
  • Respond to emergency lockout situations
  • Design and develop master key systems for commercial and industrial properties
  • Stay up-to-date with new lock and security technologies and products
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients and addressing their concerns
  • Keep accurate records of service calls, including parts used and time spent on each job
  • Operate company vehicle and maintain tools and equipment in good condition.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a locksmith or similar role
  • Knowledge of different types of locks and security systems
  • Ability to use various tools and equipment for lock installation and repair
  • Attention to detail and manual dexterity
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Physical stamina and ability to work in different environments and weather conditions
  • Flexibility to work on-call or outside of regular business hours
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to job sites
