Loader Unloaders manage the efficient movement of goods in a warehouse setting. Responsibilities include loading and unloading shipments, verifying inventory accuracy, and maintaining a safe work environment. Expertise in heavy machinery operation is often required.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload goods from trucks or other vehicles
- Inspect and verify incoming and outgoing shipments
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product code
- Ensure that materials are properly secured or braced to prevent damage or shifting in transit
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks and hand trucks
- Keep track of inventory and report any discrepancies
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment
- Fulfill other duties as assigned by management
Requirements:
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects
- Familiarity with loading and unloading procedures
- Good communication skills to coordinate with other workers
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in loading and unloading
- Prior experience in a similar role is preferred
- Flexibility to work in shifts and extended hours including weekends
- Willingness to adhere to safety regulations and maintain a clean work environment
