A Library Page maintains an organized library environment by shelving books, assisting patrons, and performing clerical tasks. Responsibilities include sorting and shelving materials, aiding in inventory management, and ensuring a clean, orderly space.

Responsibilities:

  • Shelve books and other library materials accurately and efficiently
  • Retrieve library materials from shelves for patrons and staff
  • Assist patrons in locating library materials and using library equipment
  • Perform routine clerical tasks such as answering phones, sorting mail, and maintaining records
  • Assist with library programs and events
  • Assist with the maintenance and organization of library collections
  • Perform other duties as assigned by library management
  • Provide excellent customer service to all library patrons

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy books
  • Prior experience in a library setting preferred
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
