A Library Page maintains an organized library environment by shelving books, assisting patrons, and performing clerical tasks. Responsibilities include sorting and shelving materials, aiding in inventory management, and ensuring a clean, orderly space.
Responsibilities:
- Shelve books and other library materials accurately and efficiently
- Retrieve library materials from shelves for patrons and staff
- Assist patrons in locating library materials and using library equipment
- Perform routine clerical tasks such as answering phones, sorting mail, and maintaining records
- Assist with library programs and events
- Assist with the maintenance and organization of library collections
- Perform other duties as assigned by library management
- Provide excellent customer service to all library patrons
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy books
- Prior experience in a library setting preferred
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
