Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze construction plans and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure all aspects of the project are considered in the estimate
- Research and gather information on materials, labor, and equipment costs
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and presentations
- Ensure all estimates are completed in a timely and accurate manner
- Participate in project meetings to provide support and insight on cost estimates
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in construction estimating
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or a related field.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills to accurately estimate project costs.
- Familiarity with construction software and technology, such as Bluebeam, PlanGrid, and AutoCAD.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients, architects, and contractors.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of construction codes and regulations to ensure compliance with local and national laws.
- Previous experience in construction estimating, preferably in a junior or assistant role.
