An Intervention Specialist designs and implements strategies to assist individuals facing challenges in education, mental health, or addiction. Responsibilities include assessing needs, creating intervention plans, and monitoring progress.

Responsibilities:

  • Interview and assess students to determine their academic, social, and emotional needs
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment for students
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students with disabilities in a variety of settings including classrooms, small groups, and one-on-one

  • Advocate for students with disabilities and their families, and work to ensure their rights are protected and their needs are met

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in education or related field
  • Certification in special education, school counseling, or a related field
  • Experience working with students with disabilities
  • Knowledge of special education laws and regulations
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students
