Gaugers play a critical role in the oil and gas industry, responsible for measuring and regulating the flow of petroleum through pipelines. Tasks include inspecting equipment, monitoring pressure, and ensuring accurate readings.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct measurements of oil, gas and other substances in storage tanks
  • Ensure that measurement instruments are calibrated and functioning correctly
  • Perform visual inspections of storage tanks to identify potential problems
  • Record and report measurement data accurately and in a timely manner
  • Communicate with production and logistics personnel to ensure that gauging operations do not interfere with other activities
  • Monitor inventory levels and recommend adjustments to supply and distribution plans
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
  • Provide training and guidance to less experienced gaugers as needed

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working in the oil and gas industry
  • Ability to read and interpret gauges and other measurement instruments accurately
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and report anomalies
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing for extended periods of time and working in various weather conditions
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and report generation
  • Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with team members and supervisors
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and regulations
