As a finish carpenter, you will be responsible for installing and finishing detailed trim work, custom cabinets, and other decorative elements. You must have excellent attention to detail and be skilled in using various tools and techniques to create a polished and professional final product.
Responsibilities:
- Interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the requirements of the project.
- Measuring and marking cutting lines on materials using a ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge.
- Cutting, shaping, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials using hand tools and power tools.
- Installing structures and fixtures, such as windows, frames, floorings, and trim, using carpenter's hand and power tools.
- Inspecting and replacing damaged framework or other structures and fixtures.
- Collaborating with other professionals, such as architects and engineers, to complete projects.
- Training and supervising apprentices and other workers.
- Maintaining and cleaning tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a finish carpenter
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Proficient in using various carpentry tools, including saws, drills, and sanders
- Attention to detail and ability to work with precision
- Knowledge of different types of wood and their characteristics
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours and weekends, as needed
