Responsibilities:
- Sort and prepare mail for delivery to assigned route
- Load and unload mail and packages from delivery vehicle
- Deliver mail and packages to residential and business addresses on assigned route
- Collect outgoing mail and packages from homes and businesses
- Obtain signatures for registered, certified, and insured mail
- Complete required paperwork and maintain accurate delivery records
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and resolving complaints
- Follow all safety procedures while operating a delivery vehicle and delivering mail
Requirements:
- Physical fitness and stamina to walk and carry mail for long hours
- Good knowledge of the local area and streets in order to efficiently deliver mail
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet delivery deadlines
- Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and provide courteous service
- Basic math skills to accurately sort and distribute mail
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record, as some routes may require the use of a vehicle
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions, including rain, snow, and extreme heat or cold
- High level of integrity and trustworthiness, as postal workers often handle confidential or sensitive mail
