- Develop and implement disease surveillance systems to monitor and track the spread of diseases and outbreaks.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, policymakers and community organizations to develop and implement public health interventions and programs.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to healthcare professionals, policymakers and the public through written reports, presentations and media interviews.
- Contribute to the development of public health policies and guidelines based on epidemiological evidence.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and advancements in the field of epidemiology by attending conferences, reading scientific journals and participating in professional organizations.
- Provide training and guidance to other healthcare professionals, including epidemiology staff, on best practices for disease control and prevention.
Requirements:
- Master's or PhD degree in Epidemiology or related field
- Strong analytical and data management skills
- Experience in designing and implementing epidemiological studies
- Knowledge of statistical software such as SAS or R
- Ability to communicate complex epidemiological concepts to non-technical audiences
- Understanding of public health policy and practice
- Familiarity with study protocols and ethical guidelines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
