Responsibilities:
- Operate container trucks in a safe and efficient manner
- Pick up and deliver shipping containers from ports, rail yards, and other locations
- Ensure proper loading and securing of containers on the truck
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the truck and container
- Adhere to all traffic laws and DOT regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members
- Keep accurate records of container movements and truck maintenance
- Report any incidents or accidents to management in a timely manner
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to operate and maneuver large vehicles in tight spaces
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures for transporting containers
- Ability to read and interpret shipping and transportation documents
- Physical stamina and ability to work long hours and weekends as needed
- Good communication skills for coordinating with warehouse and shipping personnel
- Experience in container or trucking industry preferred, but not required
