Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the carpentry project requirements
  • Measure and mark cutting lines on materials using rulers, squares, or marking gauges
  • Shape or cut materials to specified measurements using hand or power tools, such as saws, chisels, and planes
  • Install structures such as windows, frames, floorings, and trim, or hardware, such as locks, hinges, or handles
  • Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures and fixtures
  • Select and order lumber and other required materials
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as electricians and plumbers, on construction projects
  • Ensure the compliance with building codes and safety regulations

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a carpenter or relevant apprenticeship
