Campus Security Guards ensure the safety of students, staff, and property by patrolling premises, monitoring surveillance systems, responding to emergencies, and enforcing campus regulations. Their role is pivotal in maintaining a secure educational environment.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
- Patrol industrial and commercial premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
- Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.
- Circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property.
- Monitor and report suspicious activities and persons.
- Escort or drive motor vehicle to transport individuals to specified locations or to provide personal protection.
- Warn persons of rule infractions or violations and apprehend or evict violators from premises using force when necessary.
Requirements:
- Prior experience in security or law enforcement is required
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong communication skills to interact with students, faculty, and visitors
- Physically fit and able to stand or walk for long periods of time
- Knowledge of emergency response procedures and ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations
- Familiarity with campus layout and ability to navigate it quickly and efficiently
- Ability to spot and respond to potential safety hazards
- Must pass a background check and drug screening
