Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.
  • Patrol industrial and commercial premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
  • Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.
  • Circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property.
  • Monitor and report suspicious activities and persons.
  • Escort or drive motor vehicle to transport individuals to specified locations or to provide personal protection.
  • Warn persons of rule infractions or violations and apprehend or evict violators from premises using force when necessary.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in security or law enforcement is required
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong communication skills to interact with students, faculty, and visitors
  • Physically fit and able to stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Knowledge of emergency response procedures and ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations
  • Familiarity with campus layout and ability to navigate it quickly and efficiently
  • Ability to spot and respond to potential safety hazards
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening
