Building Designers conceptualize and create architectural plans for residential, commercial, and industrial structures. They oversee the entire design process, from initial drafting to final construction, ensuring functionality, safety, and aesthetic appeal.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and develop building plans, designs, and layouts based on client requirements and specifications.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and site investigations to determine the viability and suitability of building designs.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure that building designs are structurally sound and meet regulatory standards and requirements.
  • Perform cost analysis and budgeting for building projects, and make recommendations for design modifications to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Present design proposals and plans to clients, and make necessary revisions based on feedback and input.
  • Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to create and modify building designs and plans.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest building design trends, technologies, and materials, and incorporate them into designs as appropriate.
  • Attend project meetings and site visits to ensure that building designs are being implemented according to plan and specifications.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering or related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in building design
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and other design software
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations
  • Ability to produce accurate and detailed drawings
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify potential design issues
