Boiler Operators oversee, maintain, and repair boilers and large tanks that supply steam to heat buildings or power generators. Responsibilities include monitoring gauges, conducting inspections, and ensuring safety protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor boiler operations and keep records of fuel consumption and water levels
- Operate and maintain a variety of mechanical equipment, such as pumps, compressors, and generators
- Perform routine maintenance on boilers and related equipment to ensure their safe and efficient operation
- Respond to equipment malfunctions and take corrective actions to prevent damage to the equipment or interruption of service
- Assist in the installation and repair of boiler systems and related equipment as needed
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies at all times
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Requirements:
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Must possess a valid boiler operator license/certification
- Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience operating and maintaining boilers
- Must be able to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints
- Must be able to troubleshoot and diagnose boiler malfunctions
- Must be physically capable of working in confined spaces and lifting heavy objects
- Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with team members and management
- Must be willing to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays as necessary
