Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain bandsaw machinery according to safety guidelines and company procedures
- Adjust bandsaw blade tension, speed, and feed rates for different materials and cuts
- Measure and mark materials to be cut, ensuring accuracy and minimizing waste
- Inspect materials for defects or imperfections before cutting, and adjust cutting parameters as needed
- Monitor saw blade condition and replace or sharpen blades as necessary
- Record material usage, production data, and machinery maintenance in logs or databases
- Collaborate with other production workers and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of orders
- Keep work area clean and organized, following 5S principles and contributing to a safe and productive environment
Requirements:
- Experience operating bandsaws and other woodcutting machinery
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Familiarity with safety procedures and protocols for operating machinery
- Physical dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precise cuts and movements
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in repetitive tasks
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on machinery
- Good communication skills for collaborating with other team members
- Availability to work flexible shifts and overtime as needed
