Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to determine tool requirements
  • Operate and maintain various machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders
  • Fabricate and assemble tools, dies, and jigs using manual and CNC machines
  • Inspect finished tools for accuracy and functionality using precision measuring instruments
  • Troubleshoot and repair damaged tools and equipment
  • Assist senior toolmakers in the design and development of new tools
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient and effective production processes
  • Adhere to safety standards and regulations in all aspects of work

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a technical training program in toolmaking or related field
  • Basic knowledge of blueprint reading and interpretation
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools
