An Apprentice Toolmaker proactively learns and assists in manufacturing and maintaining precision tools. They are accountable for performing tasks such as blueprint interpretation, tool designing, debugging, repair, and analysis of molds & stamps. Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications to determine tool requirements
- Operate and maintain various machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders
- Fabricate and assemble tools, dies, and jigs using manual and CNC machines
- Inspect finished tools for accuracy and functionality using precision measuring instruments
- Troubleshoot and repair damaged tools and equipment
- Assist senior toolmakers in the design and development of new tools
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient and effective production processes
- Adhere to safety standards and regulations in all aspects of work
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a technical training program in toolmaking or related field
- Basic knowledge of blueprint reading and interpretation
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
- Physical dexterity and ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including standing for long periods and lifting heavy objects
