Controller- Location- Sackville, NS

Our client is looking for a full-time Controller to join their multi-business organization encompassing the service and property sectors.

This individual would need to be flexible in that their responsibilities would range from basic bookkeeping (QuickBooks Online) assistance and mentoring the accounting team to high-level financial management and everything in between. This is a great opportunity for a CPA to further grow and develop within the organization. Exposure to property and service organizations would be of benefit.

A brief description of duties is as follows:

Oversee the accounting operations of the group of companies.
Provide leadership and support to the accounting team.
Cashflow management, review cash position on monthly basis with directors
Liaise with Bank on reporting requirements, mortgage renewals, etc.
Manage and oversee lease negotiations for residential and commercial properties.
Manage annual insurance renewal process.
Improve upon/Implement budgeting and internal reporting process.
Quarterly reporting to directors.
Support short-term and long-term operational strategies.
Continuous monitoring/improvement to Internal controls, policies, practices, and procedures.
Liaise with external accounting partners during the year on various accounting and taxation issues that arise.
Oversee the year-end Review and Compilation process with external accountants.
Preparation and filing of HST Returns for the group (monthly and quarterly reporting requirements) / remit and monitor corporate tax instalments and evaluate adequacy based on tax estimates during the year.
HR department - Manage, oversee and continuously improve processes.

The salary range is $130K. Must have a CPA designation. The position is full-time with a benefits package commensurate with the position.
